A Fedex Federal Express Airbus A300-600, registration N679FE performing freight flight FX-1329 from Madison,WI to Memphis,TN (USA) with 3 crew, was climbing out of Madison's runway 18 when the crew stopped the climb at 5000 feet, declared Mayday reporting an electrical systems issue and requested to divert to Milwaukee,WI (USA). When offered runway 19L at Milwaukee the crew considered to divert to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA) reasoning that the runway was a little short for them, ATC inquired with Milwaukee again which resulted in runway 19R becoming available. The crew diverted to Milwaukee for a safe landing on runway 19R about 27 minutes after departure.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 15 hours, then continued the flight.
