A Saratov Airlines Yakovlev Yak-42D, registration RA-42361 performing flight 6W-728 from Izhevsk to Moscow Domodedovo (Russia) with 51 passengers and 7 crew, was enroute at FL300 nearing the top of descent into Moscow about 140nm east of Moscow when the crew needed to shut one of the engines (D-36) down. The aircraft continued to Moscow Domodedovo for a safe landing about 50 minutes later.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Moscow about 51 hours after landing.

The airline reported the crew needed to shut one of the three engines of the aircraft down due to "unstable operation". The aircraft landed safely and on two engines. A partner airline needed to perform the rotation to Izhevsk the following day.
