A Jetblue Airbus A320-200, registration N729JB performing flight B6-1675 from Fort Lauderdale,FL (USA) to Kingston (Jamaica), was climbing through FL290 out of Fort Lauderdale when the crew received abnormal EGT indications for one of the engines (V2527) and decided to return to Fort Lauderdale for a safe landing about 45 minutes after departure.

A replacement A320-200 registration N746JB reached Kingston with a delay of 2 hours.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 9 hours after landing back.
