An Azur Air Boeing 767-300, registration VP-BXW performing flight ZF-555 from Moscow Domodedovo (Russia) to Varadero (Cuba) with 294 passengers and 14 crew, was enroute at FL380 about 180nm northnorthwest of Atlantic City,NJ (USA) when the crew reported a problem with one of their engines (PW4062) and decided to divert to Atlantic City, where the aircraft landed safely on runway 31 about 30 minutes later. The aircraft taxied to the apron.

Russia's Consulate in the United States reported the aircraft diverted to Atlantic City due to a malfunctioning engine. The passengers and crew were taken to the waiting area of the airport, diplomats of the Russian Consulate urgently left New York to assist the passengers and crew of the charter flight.

The aircraft was unable to continue the journey due to a fuel leak at the engine.

A replacement Boeing 767-300 registration VP-BUX positioned from Varadero (Cuba) to Atlantic City and delivered the passengers to Varadero with a delay of about 20 hours.
