A TUI Airways Boeing 757-200, registration G-OOBP performing flight BY-2677 from La Palma,CI (Spain) to Manchester,EN (UK) with 226 people on board, was final approach to Manchester's runway 23R when the crew initiated a missed approach due to a problem with the flaps. The aircraft entered a hold to work the related checklists, the crew subsequently declared PAN advising they would need the full runway length even though they were able to partially extend the flaps. The aircraft landed safely on runway 23R at a rather normal speed (132 knots over ground) about 30 minutes after the go around.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 8.5 hours later.

The airline reported: "TOM2677 experienced a technical issue upon approach into MAN. This aircraft however has landed with no issues."

A listener on frequency reported the aircraft went around, entered a hold at MIRSI, declared PAN reported they had a flaps issue though they were able to partially extend the flaps, they would need the full length of the runway. They landed on runway 23R and were met by emergency services before vacating the runway.
