A KLM Embraer ERJ-190, registration PH-EZD performing flight KL-1641 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Florence (Italy), was climbing out of Amsterdam when the crew stopped the climb at FL060 reporting they had a failure of their anti-ice systems and were thus not able to continue, however, no assistance was needed. The aircraft returned to Amsterdam for a safe landing on runway 27 about 20 minutes after departure.

A replacement ERJ-190 registration PH-EXE reached the destination with a delay of about 100 minutes.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 8 hours after landing back.
