A UTAir Boeing 737-500, registration VP-BXO performing flight UT-824 from Baku (Azerbaijan) to Surgut (Russia), landed on Surgut's runway 25, when after touchdown the crew deployed the thrust reversers, the right hand engine (CFM56) however spontaneously shut down. The crew slowed the aircraft safely.

Rosaviatsia reported the cause of the engine shutdown upon deployment of the thrust reverser is being investigated.
