A Norwegian Long Haul Boeing 787-900, registration LN-LNK performing flight DY-7147 from London Gatwick,EN (UK) to Boston,MA (USA) with 344 people on board, was enroute at FL380 about 320nm westsouthwest of Dublin (Ireland) about to enter the Oceanic crossing when the crew decided to turn around and divert to Dublin due to piece of luggage on board, that travelled without the related passenger. The aircraft landed safely in Dublin about 55 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 100 minutes, then continued and reached Boston with a delay of 2:50 hours.

The airline reported a piece of luggage was travelling on the aircraft, however the passenger that the luggage belonged to, was not on board of the aircraft, there the security measure was taken.
