A Norwegian Long Haul Boeing 787-9, registration LN-LNI performing flight DY-7110 (dep Sep 4th) from Los Angeles,CA (USA) to Barcelona,SP (Spain) with 331 people on board, was enroute at FL390 about 250nm westsouthwest of Dublin (Ireland) when the crew reported their left hand engine (Trent 1000) had surged, they expected a normal landing though. The crew decided to divert to Dublin where the aircraft landed safely about 45 minutes later.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Dublin about 8 hours after landing.
