A Thomas Cook Airbus A321-200, registration G-TCDG performing flight MT-992 from Birmingham,EN (UK) to Hurghada (Egypt), was enroute at FL350 about 50nm west of Munich (Germany) when the crew decided to divert to Munich due to a problem with a fuel pump. The aircraft landed safely on Munich's runway 08R about 25 minutes later, emergency services checked the aircraft for possible fuel leaks.

Following maintenance the aircraft was able to depart about 3 hours after landing and returned to Birmingham.

A passenger reported the aircraft diverted to Munich. While on the ground announcements were made indicating there was a problem with a fuel pump. The aircraft was refuelled and departed again after about 3 hours on the ground returning to Birmingham. The flight was postponed to the next day as flight MT-992A.

A replacement Airbus A321-200 registration G-TCDF reached Hurghada with a delay of 24 hours.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Birmingham for about 14 hours, then returned to service.
