A Simrik Airlines (formerly known as Sita Air) Dornier Do-228, registration 9N-AJH performing flight RMK-21 from Lukla to Kathmandu (Nepal) with 9 passengers and 2 crew, was about to take off from Lukla's runway 24 when the aircraft went off the left edge of the runway at around 07:30L (01:45Z) and stopped.

A licensed aircraft mechanics was flown to Lukla to conduct that inspection and returned the aircraft to service at about 10:00L. The aircraft departed to Kathmandu immediately afterwards.
