An Air Canada Embraer ERJ-175, registration C-FEJD performing flight AC-1112 from Winnipeg,MB to Ottawa,ON (Canada) with 69 people on board, was climbing out of Winnipeg with autopilot and autothrottle engaged when the crew noticed the control column was oscillating. The autopilot was disengaged and the oscillations ceased, the autothrottle remained engaged but did not respond to speed selections. The crew further observed the VSI needle fluctuating erroneously. The crew stopped the climb at 10,000 feet and returned to Winnipeg for a safe landing about 30 minutes after departure.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance replaced the AIOPA2 Actuator I/O module, which subsequently tested serviceable, checked the autopilot and elevator servos, tested the functions of autopilot and autothrottle and found all serviceable before returning the aircraft to service.
