A China Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration B-18610 performing flight CI-113 from Hiroshima (Japan) to Taipei (Taiwan) with 134 people on board, was enroute at FL300 about 60nm southeast of Fukuoka (Japan) when the crew decided to divert to Fukuoka due to problems with the right hand engine's (CFM56) generator. The aircraft landed safely on Fukuoka's runway 16 about 25 minutes after leaving FL300.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 12 hours, then continued the flight and reached Taipei with a delay of 12.5 hours.
