A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700, registration N7844A performing flight WN-1803 from Atlanta,GA to Chicago Midway,IL (USA) with 98 people on board, was on final approach to Midway's runway 31C when the crew initiated a go around reporting an abnormal flaps indication. The aircraft positioned for another approach to runway 22L and landed safely at a slightly higher than normal speed about 30 minutes after aborting the first approach.

A replacement Boeing 737-700 registration N735SA continued for the next sectors of the flight.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service after about 6 hours on the ground.
