An Allegiant McDonnell Douglas MD-88, registration N403NV performing flight G4-815 from Raleigh Durham,NC to Saint Petersburg,FL (USA) with 94 passengers and 6 crew, was climbing out of Raleigh Durham's runway 05L when the crew declared emergency reporting smoke in the cabin and requested an immediate return and later to "roll the trucks". The aircraft landed safely on runway 05L about 8 minutes after departure and taxied to the gate.

The airline reported the aircraft had sort of a mechanical problem.
