A Delta Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration N825NW performing flight DL-472 (dep Feb 14th) from Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil) to New York JFK,NY (USA), was enroute at FL340 about 350nm north of Brasilia,DF (Brazil) when the crew decided to turn around and divert to Brasilia due to some problem with one of the engines (CF6). The aircraft descended to FL330 for the diversion to Brasilia and performed a safe landing on Brasilia's runway 29R about 55 minutes later.

A passenger reported the crew announced engine issues, they were diverting to Brasilia.

The aircraft is still on the ground in Brasilia about 40 hours after landing.

On Feb 16th 2020 The Aviation Herald received information the right hand engine was leaking oil and was shut down in flight.
