An Easyjet Airbus A319-100, registration G-EZDX performing flight U2-2581 from Milan Malpensa (Italy) to Prague (Czech Republic), was on final approach to runway 24 when the crew went around from about 2500 feet MSL reporting a landing gear problem. The crew requested to enter a hold to troubleshoot the landing gear, climbed to 4000 feet and subsequently declared PAN. ATC sent all other arriving aircraft into holds advising them that fire brigades will need to check the landing gear of the emergency aircraft after landing, a delay of 15 minutes was estimated. The Easyjet crew performed an alternate landing gear extension, advised ATC that they would stop on the runway for a check by emergency services to make sure there was no fire because the landing gear doors would remain open. The A319 landed safely on runway 24 about 30 minutes after aborting the first approach. Emergency services reported no smoke and nothing unusual on the landing gear. The aircraft taxied off the runway. The other arriving aircraft landed shortly afterwards.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Prague about 8.5 hours after landing.
