A Nouvelair Airbus A320-200, registration TS-INP performing flight BJ-808 from Monastir (Tunisia) to Saint Petersburg (Russia) with 180 people on board, was climbing out of Monastir's runway 25 when the aircraft received a bird strike prompting the crew to stop the climb at FL120 and return to Monastir for a safe landing about 45 minutes after departure.

Passengers reported they were left stranded at the airport without information, food and water while the departure was postponed and postponed. In the early hours of the following days the passengers contacted the Russian embassy.

The occurrence aircraft was repaired and departed the following morning about 10 hours after landing back.
