An Air India Airbus A321-200, registration VT-PPG performing flight AI-18 from Ahmedabad to Delhi (India) with 169 passengers and 6 crew, departed Ahmedabad's runway 22 and landed safely on Delhi's runway 11 about 70 minutes later.

Ahmedabad Airport reported following the departure a dead bird and metallic parts of a pitot probe, about 17 to 20cm (7-8 inches) size, were found on the departure runway.

The airline reported the aircraft suffered a bird strike on landing in Delhi. The pilot was not aware of a bird strike on departure from Ahmedabad, ATC subsequently informed the crew about the finding on the runway suspecting the flight may have hit a bird, however, there was no abnormal indication.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Delhi for about 9.5 hours, then resumed service.
