A KLM Cityhopper Embraer ERJ-190, registration PH-EZO performing flight WA-1407/KL-1407 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Montpellier (France), was climbing out of Amsterdam when the flight crew began to consult with maintenance due to a techncial problem with the landing gear. After reaching cruise level 370 about 30nm southeast of Lille (France) maintenance and crew reached the decision to return the aircraft to Amsterdam, the crew requested emergency services on stand by advising of a possibility that the nose gear could collapse on landing. The aircraft landed safely on Amsterdam's runway 18R about one hour after departure and taxied to the apron.

A replacement ERJ-190 registration PH-EZM reached Montpellier with a delay of 190 minutes.

The occurrence aircraft was able to resume service the following morning after 16 hours on the ground.
