Niugini F100 at Kavieng on May 23rd 2017, smoke in cockpit, deflated tyres on landing
Last Update: May 24, 2017 / 15:28:37 GMT/Zulu time
The runway needed to be closed for several hours until the aircraft could be removed from the runway.
On May 24th 2017 (local) the airline reported the aircraft returned to Kavieng due to a technical fault, one tyre deflated on landing as result of inbuilt safety mechanism.
According to information running within the airline smoke emanated from the Circuit Breaker Panel. The aircraft lost all electrics causing e.g. the anti-skid system to become inoperative, which further resulted in blown tyres during the landing roll.
