A Delta Airlines Boeing 747-400, registration N669US performing flight DL-159 from Detroit,MI (USA) to Seoul (South Korea) with 375 passengers, had just reached initial cruise level 280 when the crew received a panel door open indication. The crew decided to return to Detroit, dumped fuel and landed safely back at Detroit about 2 hours after departure.

The flight was cancelled.

The airline reported the aircraft was about 30 minutes into the flight when a light came on indication a maintenance panel door became open at the outside of the aircraft.
