A Jetblue Embraer ERJ-190, registration N306JB performing flight B6-1808 from Washington Dulles,DC to New York JFK,NY (USA) with 66 people on board, was in the initial climb out of Dulles Airport's runway 30 when the crew reported they had hit something during rotation, there was a lot of noise from the nose wheel, they suspected they hit some animal with the nose gear, the engines were stable, and requested to level off to work some checklists. The aircraft stopped the climb at 3000 feet and entered a hold while the crew worked the checklists. ATC reported a bird was found on the runway. About 15 minutes after levelling off the crew reported the vibrations had increased, the crew declared emergency and requested runway 19C. The crew advised they were planning to stop on the runway and requested emergency services to check the nose gear. The aircraft landed safely on runway 19C about 28 minutes after departure. Emergency services reported a fuel leak while checking the aircraft and applied foam. The passengers disembarked via a people mover and were taken to the terminal.

A replacement ERJ-190 registration N292JB reached New York with a delay of 4:15 hours.

A passenger reported noise and vibrations started a few seconds after takeoff, the noise seemed to reduce while maintaining level but seemed to increase when more engine power was needed. Flight Attendants instructed passengers to brace for landing (audio impressions of final approach and landing).
