A TAAG Angola Airlines Boeing 737-700, registration D2-TBH performing flight DT-443 from Luanda to Catumbela (Angola), was on approach to Catumbela when the aircraft flew through a flock of birds and took a number of bird strikes to an engine (CFM56). The aircraft continued for a safe landing in Catumbela.

The airline reported that one of the engines received damage as result of the bird strikes. Following the accident in Soyo, see Accident: TAAG B737 at Soyo on Apr 30th 2017, nose gear collapse on landing and the bird strike in Catumbela two aircraft are now missing causing disruptions to the flight schedule.

The occurrence aircraft has not yet returned to service about 53 hours after landing.
