An Omni Air International Boeing 767-300 on behalf of US Transportation Command, registration N351AX performing flight CMB-525 from Aqaba International to Azraq Air Base (Jordan), suffered a tail strike on landing at Azraq Airbase at around 09:30L (07:30Z). There were no injuries, the aircraft sustained substantial damage however.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Jordan until Mar 29th 2017, then ferried back to the USA via Shannon and Bangor climbing to normal cruise levels and since is still on the ground in the USA (standing May 11th 2017).

According to information The Aviation Herald received on Mar 1st 2017, but was unable to verify so far, the aircraft suffered a tail strike on Feb 28th 2017 on an operation involving Aqaba Air Base believed to have been a landing. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the aft pressure bulkhead, the tail actuator was pushed inside the aft empennage.

An inquiry to Jordan's CARC (Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission) and accident investigation board transmitted on Mar 1st 2017 has so far remained without reply.

On May 11th 2017 the NTSB reported they received information of an accident involving N351AX at Azraq Air base, that happened on Feb 28th 2017. There were no injuries. The occurrence was rated an accident by Jordan's Accident Investigation. The NTSB have assigned an accredited representative and joined the investigation led by Jordan's Accident Investigation.
