An Indigo Airbus A320-200, registration VT-IDB performing flight 6E-303 from Delhi to Hyderabad (India), was maintaining FL080 about 19nm south of Delhi Airport following departure from Delhi.

An Air India Airbus A320-200, registration VT-ESL performing flight AI-411 from Delhi to Lucknow (India), was cleared to climb to FL090 and was climbing through FL075 on a near perpendicular heading to 6E-303 about 19nm south of Delhi Airport when TCAS resolution advisories activated on both flight decks. The Indigo A320 climbed to above FL085 until being clear of conflict, then returned to FL080, the Air India Airbus reduced the rate of climb.

Both aircraft continued to their destinations for safe landing.

India's AIB rated the occurrence a serious incident and opened an investigation.
