A Delta Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration N817NW performing flight DL-161 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Minneapolis,MN (USA), was climbing out of Amsterdam's runway 36L when the crew stopped the climb at 4000 feet reporting a #1 engine (PW4168, left hand) stall. The aircraft returned to Amsterdam for a safe overweight landing on runway 36C about 30 minutes after departure.

A replacement A330-300 registration N801NW is estimated to reach Minneapolis with a delay of 4 hours.
