A Delta Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-88, registration N902DE performing flight DL-2391 from New York JFK,NY to Tampa,FL (USA) with 145 people on board, was on approach to Tampa's runway 19R when the crew went around reporting an unsafe gear indication. After working the checklists the crew advised they would need to stop on the runway, they had no nosewheel steering, the gear doors were all open and would most likely scrape the runway requring a runway inspection. The aircraft landed safely with all gear down and locked but gear doors open, the gear door did scrape the runway surface.

The FAA reported the gear doors scraped the runway surface, the aircraft was towed to the apron. The aircraft sustained minor damage.
