An Azur Air Boeing 757-200, registration VQ-BEY performing flight ZF-4234 from Utapao (Thailand) to Kemerovo (Russia) with 167 passengers and 7 crew, was enroute at FL330 about 300nm north of Utapao just inside Laos' Airspace when the crew decided to return to Utapao. The aircraft landed safely back in Utapao about 130 minutes after departure.

West-Siberia's Transport Prosecution Office reported the aircraft returned to Utapao due due to a sensor technical problem with the right hand engine (PW2040).

A replacement Boeing 757-200 registration VQ-BEZ reached Kemerovo with a delay of about 15 hours.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 17 hours, then resumed service.
