A SAS Scandinavian Airlines Boeing 737-700, registration SE-RJS performing flight SK-4760 from Munich (Germany) to Oslo (Norway) with 119 passengers, was in the initial climb out of Munich's runway 08L when the crew stopped the climb at about FL104 due to problems with the left hand engine (CFM56), shut the engine down and returned to Munich for a safe landing on runway 08L about 16 minutes after departure.

A passenger reported the captain announced one of the engines had failed and they were returning to Munich.

The airline confirmed an engine was shut down. The flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Munich about 27 hours after landing back.
