A Webjet Boeing 737-300, flight WH-5760 from Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont,RJ to Sao Paulo Guarulhos,SP (Brazil), was climbing out of Rio de Janeiro when the crew reported a suspected fuel leak and returned to Rio de Janeiro's Santos Dumont Airport for a safe landing.

Passengers reported a strong smell of fuel in the cabin before the captain announced they were having problems with a fuel gauge and needed to return to Santos Dumont.

The flight was cancelled.

The airline said the aircraft is being examined. The passengers have all been accomodated on the next flights.
