The Philippines Civil Aviation Authority (CAAP) rated the occurrence a serious incident and opened an investigation.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Kalibo 10 days later.
No weather data are available for Kalibo.
In a later preliminary note the CAAP reported the aircraft was performing a RNAV Y approach to runway 05, winds were from 030 degrees gusting 10-12 knots in light rain. The aircraft touched down about 485 meters/1590 feet past the runway threshold with the left main gear 4.7 meters/15 feet off the paved surface of the runway. The left main rolled over soft ground for about 540 meters/1770 feet before the gear entered the paved surface of the runway. The aircraft subsequently taxied to the apron. The aircraft received damage to the left hand engine cowl due to impact with a runway distance marker and to the left outboard main tyre which rolled over and destroyed a runway edge light.
