A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration C-GGMI performing flight QK-8233 from Calgary,AB to Yellowknife,NT (Canada), burst the #3 (inboard right hand) tyre on departure from Calgary. The crew stopped the climb at 7000 feet and entered a hold to burn off fuel. The aircraft landed safely on runway 17L about one hour after departure and stopped on the runway.

The passengers disembarked onto the runway and were bussed to the terminal.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance replaced the #3 tyre on the runway and towed the aircraft to the apron. A hole was discovered in the right hand flap.
