A Germania Boeing 737-700, registration D-AGEQ performing flight ST-6334 from Erfurt (Germany) to Antalya (Turkey), was on approach to Antalya at about 10:00L (07:00Z) when the aircraft encountered turbulence followed by a lightning strike. The crew aborted the approach at 5000 feet, decided to divert to Dalaman (Turkey), climbed the aircraft to FL170 and landed safely in Dalaman about 35 minutes after stopped in the descent at 5000 feet in Antalya.

The aircraft carried the German third league soccer team of Rot Weiß Erfurt to their training camp in Antalya.

Passengers reported the captain announced along the words "as you noticed we just caught a lightning strike, however, nothing happened".

The occurrence aircraft was unable to depart again and is still on the ground in Dalaman about 14 hours after landing.

The passengers were bussed to Antalya.
