A Malaysia Airlines Airbus A380-800, registration 9M-MND performing flight MH-1 (dep Dec 21st) from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), was enroute at FL350 about 25nm north of Budapest (Hungary) when the crew reported a technical problem and requested to return to London Heathrow. After being instructed to descend to FL340 and turn around the crew explained they had "quite a problem with the doors, it is very noisy and terrible to the passengers". The aircraft landed safely back at London Heathrow about 2.5 hours later.

The airline reported a door was leaking, the noise and vibrations from the door were no risk however. In the interest of the passengers the crew decided to return to Heathrow. The door was tightened in consultation with Airbus and licensing authorities, and the aircraft departed again.

The occurrence aircraft departed again after about 5:45 hours on the ground in London and is estimated to reach Kuala Lumpur with a total delay of 10 hours.
