An Aurora Airlines de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration RA-67254 performing flight HZ-209 from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to Blagoveschensk (Russia) with 50 passengers and 4 crew, was climbing out of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk when the crew received indication that a door was not closed, stopped the climb at about 4000 feet and returned to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk for a safe landing.

The Far Eastern Transportation Investigation Department opened an investigation.
