An American Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration N9018E performing flight AA-2400 from Dallas Ft. Worth,TX to Vail,CO (USA), was descending towards Vail when the crew reported a #1 engine (CFM56) indication and decided to divert to Denver. The aircraft landed safely on runway 35L and taxied to the apron.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 4 hours, then continued to Vail arriving there with a delay of 4.5 hours.

A passenger reported the crew announced was a computer/throttle problem causing the diversion to Denver.
