A Rossiya Airbus A320-200 on behalf of Aeroflot, registration VP-BWI performing flight SU-6617 from Saint Petersburg (Russia) to Larnaca (Cyprus), was enroute at FL310 about 100nm northeast of Rostov on Don (Russia) when the crew decided to divert to Rostov for a safe landing on runway 22 about 30 minutes later.

The airline reported the diversion was necessary due to the failure of domestic equipment including the galleys.

A replacement A320-200 registration VQ-BFM was dispatched to Rostov, resumed the flight and reached Larnaca with a delay of 9.5 hours.

On Nov 4th 2016 emergency services reported the crew reported sparks and electrical problems in a galley.
