ADS-B data transmitted by the aircraft's transponder suggest the aircraft was moving at 25 knots over ground at the time the nose and left main gear departed the runway surface.
On Nov 2nd 2016 the airline sent following statement to The Aviation Herald: "AirAsia confirms that flight AK6443 scheduled to depart from Kota Bharu to Kuala Lumpur yesterday night was involved in an incident while taxiing on the runway at Sultan Ismail Petra airport. All guests and crew on board the flight are safe and no injuries have been reported. All guests were attended to and all necessary assistance were provided. All AirAsia flights are operating normally from Sultan Ismail Petra airport today. Flight AK6446 from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Bharu which was scheduled to depart on Tuesday night has departed for Kota Bharu at 0900hrs this morning."
