A Qantas Boeing 737-800, registration VH-VXT performing flight QF-648 from Perth,WA to Melbourne,VI (Australia) with 160 passengers, was enroute when a male passenger began to disturb other passengers in the back of the cabin. After about an hour, about half way into the flight, cabin crew attempted to reseat the passenger in the front of the cabin, the unruly woke another passenger up there asking whether he wouldn't bother him. The unruly began to yell and attack the cabin crew prompting other passengers to jump to assistance to subdue the unruly, who was restrained and sat in the back of the cabin. Flight crew requested police to meet the aircraft upon arrival. The aircraft landed safely in Melbourne, police took the unruly into custody.

The airline confirmed a passenger was restrained during the flight after cabin crew tried to calm him down.

Melbourne police confirmed they removed a man restrained by flexicuffs from the aircraft.

Passengers reported the unruly had been pesting fellow travellers in the back of the cabin for about an hour when he was to be reseated in the front of cabin by cabin crew. At that point the man began to yell and attack cabin crew, passengers and cabin crew subdued the man and restrained him in the back of the cabin where he sat quietly.
