A Wizzair Airbus A320-200, registration HA-LWM performing flight W6-4340 from Memmingen (Germany) to Sofia (Bulgaria) with 143 passengers, was accelerating for takeoff from runway 24 when the right hand engine (V2527) ingested a bird prompting the crew to reject takeoff at high speed. The aircraft slowed safely and returned to the apron.

A replacement A320-200 registration HA-LPJ reached Sofia with a delay of 5:15 hours.

The occurrence aircraft resumed service about 24 hours after rejecting takeoff.
