A Yeti Airlines Jetstream 41, registration 9N-AIB performing flight YT-893 from Kathmandu to Bhairawa (Nepal) with 29 passengers and 3 crew, landed on Bhairawa's runway 28 at 16:56L (11:11Z) but overran the end of the runway and came to a stop in rough terrain about 110 meters/350 feet past the runway end. There were no injuries, the aircraft sustained substantial damage however.

The airline regretted to confirm flight YS-893 was involved in a runway excursion incident at 16:56L (11:11Z). All 29 passengers and 3 crew are safe.

No Metars are available, the local weather station reported at 14:45L winds from eastsoutheast at 4 knots, 8000 meters visibility, temperature 28 degrees C, dew point 25 degrees C, partly cloudy, at 17:45L the weather station reported winds from east at 6 knots, 8000 meters visibility, temperature 28 degrees C, dew point 26 degrees C, partly cloudy.

According to eAIP Nepal the aerodrome features a Bitumen runway 10/28 of 1500 meters length (LDA 1500 meters) and 30 meters width, VOR/DME approaches are published for both runways, runway 28 is equipped with SALS lighting system, runway 10 features no approach lights.
