A Helvetic Fokker 100, registration HB-JVC performing flight 2L-377 from Brindisi (Italy) to Zurich (Switzerland) with 99 passengers, was climbing out of Brindisi a few minutes into the flight when the crew reported a hydraulic failure, levelled off and entered a holding to burn off fuel. The aircraft diverted to Bari (Italy) for a safe landing about 70 minutes after departure.

The flight was cancelled, the passengers were taken to hotels over night and reached Zurich on flight 2L-379 the following day with a delay of 12.5 hours.

The aircraft was able to position back to Zurich as flight 2L-9577 the following day arriving in Zurich about 20 hours after scheduled arrival.
