Spicejet B738 near Hyderabad on Aug 11th 2016, climb above cleared level results in TCAS RA

A Spicejet Boeing 737-800, registration VT-SLM performing flight SG-511 from Hyderabad to Kochi (India), was climbing out of Hyderabad when air traffic control cleared the flight to climb to FL340 and standby for further climb. The aircraft however climbed above FL340, ATC instructed to stop climb at FL350, however, the aircraft continued the climb about 130nm south of Hyderabad.

An Emirates Boeing 777-300, registration A6-ECO performing flight EK-433 from Brisbane,QL (Australia) to Dubai (United Arab Emirates), was enroute at FL360 130nm south of Hyderabad when the crew received a TCAS resolution advisory to climb, while the Spicejet crew received a TCAS RA to descend.

After being clear of conflict the Emirates Boeing 777-300 descended back to FL360, the Spicejet Boeing continued the climb to FL380.

India's DGCA is investigating the occurrence.
