A Finnair Airbus A330-300, registration OH-LTO performing ferry flight AY-78 from Osaka (Japan) to Helsinki (Finland) without passengers and just 3 crew, experienced a malfunction of the cabin pressurization system enroute. Due to higher fuel consumption at the lower flight levels the airplane diverted to Kuopio (Finland) for a safe landing.

The airplane reached Helsinki the following day.

Finnair confirmed that the airplane suffered a technical failure of the cabin pressurization system while enroute for a ferry flight with just three crew on board. Due to higher fuel consumption as result of lower level flight the crew diverted to Kuopio.

The aircraft had experienced problems with its left hand main deck door #2 while in Osaka.

Finland's Onnettomuustutkintakeskus (Accident Investigation Board) announced on Dec 21st 2010 that they opened an investigation into the serious incident.
