A replacement Boeing 717-200 registration EI-EXJ departed Bordeaux 100 minutes after landing and reached Toulouse after a short hop about 20 minutes later with a delay of 3 hours.
The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Bordeaux for 3.5 hours, then positioned to Toulouse and resumed service performing return flight V7-2093 to Strasbourg on schedule.
On Jul 25th 2016 the airline reported that the flight crew felt something during the takeoff roll, however, did not receive any abnormal indication and therefore continued takeoff. After becoming airborne the crew inquired with tower, whether tower could see anything abnormal, tower advised there was a "big piece of tyre" on the runway. A fighter aircraft was operating near the position of the Volotea Boeing and agreed to have a look at the landing gear of the B712, the fighter pilot could not see any evidence of damage on any of the nose or main wheels. The B712 captain decided to divert to Bordeaux for a maintenance check. After landing maintenance did not find any damage. Strasbourg Airport are investigating about the origin of the rubber debris.
