An American Airlines Airbus A319-100, registration N702UW performing flight AA-2043 from Charlotte,NC to West Palm Beach,FL (USA) with 118 passengers and 6 crew, landed on West Palm Beach's runway 28R maintaining routine communication. After roll out tower instructed the aircraft to vacate the runway turning right via taxiway C and issued clearance to cross runway 32, the crew however advised "we are stuck on the runway, we have a problem with the nose wheel steering". The crew of another aircraft reported the nose wheels were pointing sidewards and the aircraft would go nowhere for a while. The aircraft received damage to both nose tyres and nose wheels.

Passengers reported the landing was rather rough, after touch down it felt like the aircraft was going over speed bumps. A while after coming to a stop the crew announced the nose wheels had turned sideways causing the bumpy landing. The passengers disembarked onto the runway and were bussed to the terminal.

There had been a number of similiar occurrences before, see Incident: Vueling A320 at Sevilla on Apr 20th 2011, nose wheels tilted 90 degrees on landing and Report: Jetblue A320 at Los Angeles on Sep 21st 2005, nosewheel tilted 90 degrees for landing.
