A S7 Siberia Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration VP-BCS performing flight S7-3274 from Irkutsk to Novosibirsk (Russia) with 155 passengers, was climbing out of Irkutsk's runway 12 when the crew stopped the climb at 1500 meters (about 4900 feet) due to an engine (CFM56) fire indication. The crew shut the engine down, activated the fire suppression and returned to Irkutsk for a safe landing on runway 12 about 14 minutes after departure.

A replacement A320-200 registration VQ-BRD reached Novosibirsk with a delay of 7.5 hours.
