A Mesa Airlines Canadair CRJ-900 on behalf of American Airlines, registration N244LR performing flight YV-5704/AA-5704 (scheduled Jun 27th, actual departure Jun 28th) from Dallas Ft. Worth,TX to Corpus Christi,TX (USA), was on approach to Corpus Christi at around 02:09L when the crew received an unsafe gear indication and went around. The crew worked the related checklists but was unable to resolve the indication. The crew performed an alternate gear extension, climbed to 8000 feet and engaged in high G maneouvers to perhaps shake the gear free, however, without success. The crew prepared for a partial gear landing, instructed passengers to brace for landing and performed a safe landing on Corpus Christi's runway 13 about 40 minutes after aborting the first approach.

It is being suspected that the indication was false, the gear however extended normally.
