A Tunis Air Airbus A319-100, registration TS-IMO performing flight TU-701 from Geneva (Switzerland) to Tunis (Tunisia), was climbing out of Geneva's runway 23 when the crew stopped the climb at FL090 reporting problems with the landing gear and decided to return to Geneva. The crew subsequently advised they still had problems with their landing gear, needed the full length of the runway and would not be able to vacate the runway. Tower asked another aircraft waiting for departure to have a look onto the landing gear whether all struts were down, the crew subsequently confirmed all gear appeared in position, however the gear doors were open. The aircraft landed safely back on Geneva's runway 23 about 30 minutes after departure, stopped on the runway and needed to be towed off the runway.

Flight TU-791 from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Tunis was rerouted to make an intermediate stop in Geneva and pick up the passengers. The aircraft delivered the passengers of flight TU-791 to Tunis with a delay of 90 minutes and the passengers of flight TU-701 with a delay of 3.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft was able to position back to Tunisia after about 23 hours on the ground.
